Andy was found as a stray with a female dachshund and taken to animal control. The previous owners were located, but decided to not claim Andy or his female partner. Both dogs were then rescued by CHS, the female being adopted right away. After evaluation by veterinarian, it appears that Andy has no bones in his rear feet making him disabled. He was most likely born that way. On Andy's second day at CHS we measured him and ordered him a custom wheelchair. Andy allowed us to put him in his new chair and adjust all of the straps with no hesitation. Andy was a natural at instantly adjusting to his new chair. He immediately began wagging his tail and running around. Before long Andy mastered getting around objects, going backwards and going in and out of thresholds all with his tail wagging. All that Andy needs now is to find his new forever home.
